Redwood Bench for the Viking House * Redwood * 2015

A bench I carved to go with a beautiful home designed by architect Gene Callahan.  The owners of the home called the house “A Viking” house due to the steep slopes… so that theme was the inspiration for this bench.  Kind of scrolls, or a prow of a ship… yet… ambiguous enough just by being a spiral.

The Big Red Chair * Redwood * 6 feet in diameter * 2016 * Roseville, California

The Big Red Chair was carved in a historic redwood… which was once the tallest thing in all of a Roseville, before being struck by lightening.  Today, the once mighty tree inspires as a piece of art – a tribute to the tree and it’s community.
